OVERVIEW
The vacuum conveyor uses a vacuum pump (venturi or mechanical) to create negative pressure that draws powder and granules through an enclosed pipeline from a pickup point to a receiving hopper. The material is separated from the air stream by a filter, and discharged through a valve. This fully enclosed system provides 100% dust-free transfer — critical for pharmaceutical, food, chemical (hazardous), and battery (sensitive) applications. Vacuum conveyors are compact, easy to route around obstacles, and can serve multiple pickup/discharge points. Compared to mechanical screw conveyors, pneumatic systems offer greater installation flexibility and superior containment.

High velocity (15-25 m/s), low pressure. Material suspended in air stream. Best for: free-flowing powders, granules, non-friable materials. Most common and economical.
Low velocity (3-8 m/s), higher pressure. Material moves in slugs/plugs. Best for: fragile, abrasive, or blended materials. Less pipe wear, gentler handling. Higher initial cost.
