Food and beverage powder processing

A food powder line is judged twice: once on the specification sheet, and once by an auditor standing in the room.

Food manufacturing asks for three things from equipment: hygiene it can demonstrate, material traceability, and a blend that repeats. Those are design decisions, not certificates bought afterwards.

Our food-grade machines use SS304 or SS316L contact parts with polished finishes, removable agitators for cleaning access, and geometry without crevices. They cover flour and bakery premixes, spice and seasoning blends, whey and dairy powders, beverage premixes, nutritional supplements and infant cereals — at batch sizes from 50 L to 4,000 L.

Food safety standards the design supports

Food-contact materials

SS304 or SS316L contact parts with food-grade seals and gaskets, suited to FDA- and EU 1935/2004-regulated applications.

Hygienic geometry

Radiused internal corners, smooth welds and full discharge, so cleaning reaches the surfaces that contact product.

CIP and manual cleaning

Removable agitators, spray-ball options and self-draining geometry, with access for inspection between recipes.

Traceability

Material certificates for contact parts and a documented build, so the machine can be entered into a HACCP or GFSI-benchmarked plan.

What we mix in food and beverage

01

Flour and bakery premixes

Flour, sugar, salt, leavening agents and vitamins blended in 5–15 minute cycles at 500–4,000 L.

02

Spice and seasoning blends

Cumin, turmeric, chilli, garlic powder and salt, blended in machines that preserve granule integrity rather than grinding it.

03

Whey and dairy powders

Whey protein, casein, milk powder and creamers, where dust control and cleanability both matter.

04

Beverage powders

Instant coffee, tea, cocoa, sports drink and electrolyte mixes, with flavour distribution as the limiting requirement.

05

Nutritional supplements

Protein blends, meal replacements, fibre and greens powders, often needing documented cleaning between allergens.

06

Infant formula and cereals

Infant formula, rice cereal and oat blends in 316L with mirror-polished contact surfaces and validated cleaning.

Frequently asked questions

What mixer suits spice blending?

A ribbon mixer covers most spice and seasoning work in 5–15 minutes without heating the product. Where granule integrity matters more than speed — cracked pepper, dried herbs — we specify a gentler tumbling machine.

Can the machine handle coffee beans?

Whole beans need a gentle tumbling action rather than an agitator; a rotary drum mixer blends without breaking them. Ground coffee is a different problem and goes through a ribbon or plough machine.

Are the machines FDA compliant?

Contact parts are SS304/316L with food-grade seals and sanitary welds, and material traceability certificates are supplied. Compliance is a property of the installed line and its cleaning regime, so we document the machine and let your HACCP plan do the rest.
