Pharmaceutical powder blending

In pharma, the machine has to be cleanable, documented and validated before it is useful — the blend itself is the last item on the list.

Pharmaceutical blending is a documentation exercise with a mechanical component. Contamination control, cleanability and process validation decide whether a machine can be installed at all; capacity and cycle time come after.

Our pharma configurations are built around that order: mirror-polished 316L, crevice-free welds, full discharge, CIP/SIP provisions and a documentation package covering material certificates and installation and operational qualification. Double cone and V-shape machines handle API and excipient blending; plough machines cover wet granulation.

GMP-ready design features

Documentation

Installation and operational qualification packages, material certificates for contact parts and a documented build sequence for regulatory submission.

Surface finish

Mirror-polished SS316L around Ra 0.4 µm, passivated and free of crevices, so cleaning validation has a surface it can defend.

CIP / WIP provisions

Spray balls, self-draining geometry and quick-release shaft seals, with manual access where the product requires it.

Batch records

PLC options with audit trail, electronic signatures and batch parameter recording for 21 CFR Part 11 environments.

Pharma and nutraceutical applications

01

API blending

Uniform distribution of active ingredients into excipients in double cone and V-shape machines, with sampling ports for validation.

02

Wet and dry granulation

Plough shear mixing with choppers for dense, uniform granules ahead of tableting or capsule filling.

03

Excipient pre-mixing

Fillers, binders, disintegrants and lubricants blended in larger volumes before the active is introduced.

04

Nutraceuticals and supplements

Protein, vitamin, mineral and herbal extract blends in GMP-grade machines at 50–1,000 L.

Frequently asked questions

Are the machines GMP compliant?

The V-shape and double cone configurations are built to GMP expectations: mirror-polished 316L, sanitary welds, no crevices, full discharge, with IQ/OQ documentation. Final compliance is established by your cleaning and process validation.

Can you supply material certificates?

Yes — 3.1 certificates for contact parts, plus a documentation package for facilities under FDA or MHRA audit.

What is the smallest batch?

A 5 L V-shape machine handles development batches; production units run to 1,500 L on the double cone and 4,000 L on the plough. Uniformity is validated per product, not assumed from the model number.
