Cosmetic powders are produced in small batches, in many shades, on equipment that has to be spotless between them. A trace of the previous pigment is a rejected batch, and a dead zone in the trough is where that trace lives.
The equipment we specify for this sector is chosen for cleanability as much as for blending: mirror-polished 316L, fully dischargeable vessels, removable agitators and quick-release seals. Blending action stays gentle, because mica, pearlescent pigments and pressed-powder binders do not respond well to high shear.
Hygiene and contamination control
Mirror-polished 316L
Internal finish around Ra 0.4 µm, which stops pigment entrapment and makes colour changes practical.
Full discharge, no dead zones
Trough and discharge geometry that empties completely, so a validated cleaning routine actually reaches every surface.
Cosmetic GMP support
Design and documentation that supports ISO 22716-style GMP requirements, with IQ/OQ documentation available on request.
Manual or in-place cleaning
Removable agitators, quick-release shaft seals and self-draining geometry for fast changeovers between shades.
Cosmetic and personal care applications
Face powder and foundation
Titanium dioxide, iron oxides, talc, mica and silica. Rotary drum or V-shape mixing for a uniform shade without compacting the powder.
Eyeshadow and blush
Pearlescent pigments, mica, binders and preservatives. V-shape mixing with an intensifier bar where agglomerates must be broken.
Bath salts and bombs
Epsom and sea salts with essential oils and fragrance, using a drum mixer with spray nozzles for even distribution.
Dry shampoo
Starch, silica, clay and fragrance blends at 50–500 L, blended in a closed vessel to keep fine dust contained.
Body powder and talc
Talcum, cornstarch, zinc oxide and fragrance in larger volumes, with a spray bar for liquid additions.
Pressed powder premix
Pigment and binder premix before compaction, where a plough mixer with choppers breaks down agglomerates.
Cosmetic-grade equipment
Rotary Drum Mixer (RDM)
Slow tumbling with internal baffles preserves delicate pigment and mica particles while giving a uniform shade.

Frequently asked questions
Which mixer is best for face powder?
A V-shape or double cone machine in mirror-polished 316L. Both are gentle on mica and easy to clean between shades; the V-shape suits smaller batches, the double cone scales further.
Can you supply laboratory sizes?
Yes — from 5 L up, built to the same finish and documentation standard as the production machines, so a shade developed in the lab transfers without a second trial.
Is in-place cleaning available?
Spray-ball CIP is available on the sanitary models, and quick-release seals and removable agitators cover the manual clean between colour changes.
